Lynching

Lynching (Linchamentos) is a documentary series from Record TV / PlayPlus that investigates cases of mob violence in Brazil and the scars they leave on victims and society.
I designed the series logo. Heavy, all-caps typography gives the title the gravity the subject demands. Cutting across the letters, a stroke of pixação (Brazilian street tagging) acts as a censor bar: it recalls the urban outskirts where many of these stories unfold, and the black bars that once hid victims’ faces in newspaper photos. The black-and-white treatment completes the identity, evoking the look of documentary journalism.
In 2023, Lynching was a finalist at the International Emmy Awards in the Best Short-Form Series category, alongside productions from France, the UK and South Africa. Being part of a project recognised at this level is a real source of pride.
